In other news, my boss put a little blurb about me leaving the Church position I have at the end of June. A lot of parents have been asking me why, and I'm getting kind of sad to leave. (Also kind of freaking out, because the end of June is fast-approaching, and I don't have a full-time job lined up!) I have been getting dinner offers and babysitting opportunities, though. Having people I barely know ask me over to dinner to get to know me better makes me feel like I belong to a really nice community in the Church. The new family I've been babysitting for pays $10+ an hour, and they've booked me 7 different times this month. Sweet :) (And the kids are friggin adorable!) I told them once $50 for like 3 1/2ish hours seemed high, and they told me not at all. Another family wants to know how much I charge. Geez I haven't done this stuff in years, how much do babysitters charge now-a-days? I used to make $2-$3 an hour as a teenager, and $5 was considered really high. I don't know what to tell them!
Also, I've been asked to go camping for a weekend, to watch kids while the adults have their retreat/conference thing. They told me it would be a "paid gig, if camping was my thing." Camping is totally my thing, and I'd love to be paid to go camping and come up with fun outdoor activities for kids. Awesome!
