Not mad anymore, but that doesn't change things

So today I got an email from my dad; he's still doing the martyr thing, which drives me crazy, but he mentioned seeing our ultrasound pictures. Now, I emailed these to my grandmother, his mother, and I should have known that she'd pass them on to him, but it didn't occur to me.

I'm not actively mad at him anymore. It was a horrible thing that he did, and now he's paying. And he's going to keep paying, for the rest of his life. One of the ways he's going to pay is by not having any contact with his grandchildren.

I'm not going to keep him separated from my children out of spite (although six months ago I would have). It is, quite simply, for their protection. I can't trust him around them. That's what it comes down to. I don't think there's a way to rebuild the trust he's broken.

So I had to ask my grandmother not to pass things on to him anymore. Which will no doubt start a whole new spate of family drama, just in time for the holidays. Let the fun begin.
