okay, so since i had pretty much finished everything i needed to on monday at work, i decided to call in yesterday and go to the smithsonian! i took the metro all by myself - which is a big deal, because i don't trust myself to find my way around places.
i spent almost 4 hours wandering around the american history museum. they had an awesome photo exhibit of the beatles on ed sullivan, and i wandered around that for about 20 minutes, singing along with please please me as it played overhead. there was a large exhibit on thomas edison, including his actual journals and notes - it is so cool to look at stuff like that; it's their own handwriting and scribbles, preserved for history. i stared at julia child's kitchen for a while, as well as the superman costume that was worn be either george reeves or christopher reeve; i can never remember which.
i also think i might be gay, because i spent about 20 minutes looking at the first ladies exhibit - plus, i like to make out with dudes. there was another exhibit entitled "the presidency - a glorious burden". i probably spent a little too much time there glaring at pictures of george w bush. i didn't realize it, but the air and space museum has the wright brothers plane - i didn't find out about it until i'd taken the metro back to my car. there's also an exhibit about past wars (and their effects and costs) that's starting up this weekend. maybe i'll go back one weekend soon and check those out.
i ate lunch at cosi and had a milkshake at johnny rocket's. i also, for reasons not known to me, almost bought britney spears' greatest hits. twice. but i didn't.
what's the point of the title? well, now i feel kind of sick. i'm achy and tired. it might be from all the walking, though. hopefully that's what it is. all in all, it was a good day. cleared my head a bit. got rid of some worries. full speed ahead, ham frosting.
