(earlier, snarky post was deleted due to me not wanting to sound bitchy when i am actually in a good mood)
okay, since i have the impending move coming up (my last day of work here is 9/2), i've been trying to get rid of as much stuff as i can on ebay. mostly comics and cds that i have no intention of re-reading again, or stuff that i've got on my ipod, or whatever - just the realization that i have too much crap to take with me to charleston, and a credit card bill that i would like to be smaller.
well, to make a long story short, i recently put up 6 books ("graphic novels" for the nerds). these books are all still in print, and retail for $15.95 ($95.70 for the bunch). you can go to a store, and if they didn't have them , they could order them for you. well, one person bought all of them...for a total of $164.17! he is paying more than twice the retail price for one book that he could go to a store right now and buy new for $16. this is why i love ebay, because i don't think that half of these people are even paying attention to what they're doing; they just want to win. and my credit card bill thanks them for that.
i used $6.00 of the money to buy myself 2 books that would cost a little under $50 if i bought them new. reading is FUNdamental.
oh, and don't get me started on the tape i bought a million years ago for $10 that i'm selling for (currently) $51.00. thank you, brooke, for reminding me that keller williams still existed.
