[Insert obligatory excuse for not posting in a while here]: Blah blah blah you don’t really want to read why I haven’t posted in a while.
I moved to Warrensburg, MO for the summer. I’m interning here at the Christian Campus House at CMSU. (check out their website at: www.digdeeper.org). So far its been pretty nifty. I don’t get paid anything, but I do get a free apartment to live in during the week (which is also pretty nifty).
Wrinzay and my brother were nice enough to help me move in two weeks ago, and I had the opportunity to hang out with them here for a night. Good times.
Other good times include having lunch with my best friend Josh Furnal (www.joshfurnal.com) on Saturday (which included the witty Ryan Byrnes and current girlfriend Stephanie). We ate at the Famous Dave’s on the Kansas side of KC. RESPECT THE FAMOUS DAVE’S. Josh was shipped out to Italy on Sunday afternoon for at least the next full year. He’s the man.
I noticed last night that another distant OCC friend was marriaged off a few weeks ago. I go through this weird depression a few times a year where I think about the handful of women that I screwed things up with and how we should have been married. It’s usually sparked by seeing someone who you think is fairly weird and they manage to find someone to say “I do.” Of course it’s a lot easier to cope with if the couple is way young, and you know they’re just immature - and shouldn’t be dating anyone, let alone pledging love for the rest of their lives.
I’m treating most womens with a lot of respect lately. It’s been a rough 2005 so far with deciding how I was going to be responsible with the womens, but in the end I feel like I’ve made some healthy Christ-centered relationships. I’ve really worked on this sibling nature of relationships. I think its very healthy to learn how to really see women as sisters before seeing them as girl-friends or above.
That doesn’t mean that I still don’t struggle with womens. It’s a battle every day to submit every thought to the Father.
I get to lead worship at the church I am ministering to in two Sundays (on Father’s Day). So if anyone still reads this, which I doubt they would as I never update, could you pray that the planning and execution go well for that? Thanks!
Taco kisses,
Tim
