Yesterday we had Police Commissioner elections yesterday. I can't really say much about them. The government didn't exactly make much effort to explain what we're voting for or why we should bother. Also none of the candidates here bothered to do much campaigning. No leaflets in the post or anything. It was only because I bothered to look online that I knew who was standing.
In the end we decided not to bother. For one thing when i get back home from work it is dark and cold. Hey, want more people to vote? Try doing it in the summer! If I had voted, I would have gone for the independent candidate because I didn't like the fact that others were representing political parties and didn't like the idea of the role being politicised. But then she could have been the worse candidate.
