Don't eat at Forest House, Chester
I decided to eat at the Forest House today after work. Although it is a Whetherspoon's my first time there was positive. There was a downstairs section that was dark and quiet and peaceful and you got food in 10 minutes.
We'll they seemed to have closed that bit, so it was upstairs with the crap music and the crap service. So I order and purchase steak with jacket potato. I'm told "10 minutes" Well, 15 minutes later a waitress delivers to the table in front. Wrong table, then when she got to the right table, wrong order. They wanted salad instead of peas, or something. A few minutes later the waitress is called again. She forgot a knife and fork!
So eventually mine arrives. With chips not jacket. "oh sorry", she goes away. 5 minutes later the correct order arrives.
So then I decide to order Chocolate Fudge Cake. I wait 10 minutes and a waitress goes to the table behind me, tells them there is no more fudge cake and asks if they want something else. They order Sticky Toffee Pudding. I'm not told directly the fudge cake situation, maybe I had the last one.
5 minutes later, a different waitress brings a sticky toffee pudding to my table. "No, I wanted the fudge cake"
The table behind me said "Is that for 29?" "No, it's for 26. That's what it said." "well we ordered that", "oh, here you go then."
She goes away and returns, telling me there is no fudge cake. Thanks!
I took my refund, and left. On the front of the building it also said "Lloyd's No 1." Well this Lloyd doesn't approve! :P
