Black & Brew and Hershey's to cool it off

Jul 28, 2007 00:05

Slith had to pay a bill out near where t's work today (pawn shop; most of the lay-away is stuff t's doesn't care for, anyhow), so after getting that out of the way, we went downtown to stop at a buffet place that seemed to be trying to mimic Sweet Tomatoes by it's icon and menu. However, no one would pick up the phone. As it turns out, once we found the street it was on, they had short summer hours. Thankfully, around the corner was another joint, though t's thought it was for coffee only, Black and Brew apparently was a bistro cafe (we had another choice, but we had a coupon-book on hand to help guide our decision; a locally printed Entertainment knockoff, though authorized for the coupons). So we ordered from the menu a hot turkey & roast beef & cheese with au jus, hold the onion. Despite t's missing it had swiss (t's can't normally stomach it), it was consumable and enjoyable. For desert, there was a Hershey's Icecreamery not 2 shops down and across the corner, for which we also had an coupon. Was yum. All & all, $17 spent for dinner & desert, including tips equaling more than 10% before discount.
