Oh man, I had baseball practice today. It was our first real practice with the whole team and it was so friken hot. Everybody was out there in their baseball pants and long socks. I said "fuck that", and wore my red adidas shorts, ankle socks, and my baseball cleats, with a no-sleeve adidas baseball shirt.
Coah Johnson was like, "Oscar, we're gonna have you at 2nd & shortstop for most of the year. You can pitch some closers for us in a tight situation." And I was like "what the f, coach? I rather pitch than be out there at 2nd and short." Then he goes, "well, let me see something." Now last year I had a knuckle-curve developing... now I got it down. I have all my stuff down. I only have like 3, maybe 4 pitches. 2-seam fastball, 4-seam fastball, knuckle-curve, change-up.
But yeah... I think I really showed Coach Johnson something. Our catcher, Chase who's 14 (the youngest player on the team, but one of the best) goes, "dude, if you throw that knuckle-curve in a game with someone on base, it might go past me. It's getting to be a dirty pitch for you now."
Today, we hardly did anything baseball related. We worked on conditioning and I'm tired.
When we finally did put on our gloves and start with fielding and batting... it was 2:30. We only got in an hour of actual baseball work-out.
Dude, I fucking suck at batting. We got 10 pitches each... I hit 6. That sucks. I used to be able to hit all 10. I almost hit one over in left field. I pulled it too. It was a curve on the outside part of the plate and I pulled it to left.
My cousin Daniel who was so fucking good at baseball, wayyy better than I am showed up to my practice and was talking to Coach Johnson.
But yeah... I guess that's it.
I'll post the schedule when it's all the way finished.
