I can't tell you how much glee this brings me.
You're totally right to leave out the spoo - also, I'm loving the lattice work of the straps over Szayel's back. I shouldn't like the manacles as much as I do either.
Of course I'd love for you to get the scanner, and get the pic exactly how you want it, but I feel incredibly blessed that you've drawn them - and from that specific scene as well.

As I mentioned above, I would have preferred to draw them in a way that wouldn't tip over into mature (thus it not having to be left out, just merely out of view), as the picture should highlight the tenderness of the scene, but the slumping posture granted by my pen, does lend credibility to him having fallen asleep more than if he were clasped tightly to Il Forte.
That scene just triggered all my cute buttons in a it had to be drawn sort of way. I remember thinking as I read it "aww...the mad scientist is being adorable..." which as we all know is about as 'nice' as he gets. :P
I've done quite a bit of Szayel related pictures, though most of it is more on the porn side of things and with Ulquiorra as preferred partner.
