Shot with Nikon coolpix 4500 Saturday evening(6-5-04) at about 7:00pm at A-Kon15, a local anime convention in Dallas Texas from the window of our 10th floor room at the Adams Mark Hotel.
I looked outside the window and the saw the central building framed by the two other skyscrapers. I had to give the shot a chance. Glad I did.
A-Kon was fun. This year we stayed at the convention hotel for the "FULL KON EXPERIENCE." Was it worth it? I think so. While I will remember for a long time the overloaded elevators in the south tower, (I mean, who doesn't like sharing an elevator with 15 or more other convention goers)there was a lot of things to see and do. This year I went to a lot more of the panels and they were a lot of fun. The video rooms were fun and the dealers room was deadly, but I managed to control my impulse spending a good bit I think.
Now Ceal is reading over my sholder and is telling me that I can't say I've had the "FULL KON EXPERIENCE" for I have not drunk from anyones bathtub, participated in any Yaoi activity, I have not *glomped* or been *glomped* by anyone wearing too much hair gel, or a fur suit. I was not wearing spandex and my only experience of "BOOB OF DEATH" was on the video screen. I did shower regularly.
However, I did participate in some KON activity, I attended a panel and listened to a lot of folks argue the pro/cons of sub vrs dubbed anime... (now that topic can really heat up and run a life of its own) Oh yes, I can also say I joined in on the ridicule of the Yaoi vendor in the sales room(I mean, come on, he was the first table, dead center with the entry door to the market. And on sunday, he had a sign up on the table, Yaoi saves... You've got to love marketing... ;) )
All in all, an enjoyable weekend.
