Greetings! My name is Russell Banks. I was born born March 28, 1940 in Newton, Massachusetts. I have spent most of my life living in New England, Barnstead, New Hampshire to be exact.I grew up as the oldest of four children in a working class family. This has inspired many of my stories.
When I turned eighteen I packed my bags and headed off to college. This was a big deal for my family because I was the first to ever do so. I attended Colgate College but after only eight weeks I decided it wasn’t for me. I felt out of place amongst the wealthier students.
