Character info
Series/Fandom: Epic Mickey
Character's Name: Oswald the Lucky Rabbit
Character's Sex: Male
Character's Age: 80 +
Canon point: Right after learning the truth about the Thinner Disaster, but before the release of the real Shadow Blot
Abilities: Detachable/Shapeshifting Parts: The primary ability of Oswald shown is that he can detach his various body parts and re-shape them into various things, like keys, washcloths, etc.
Fourth Walling: This particular skill of knowing characters and/or only applies to Disney characters and, to an extent, Kingdom Hearts and those Final Fantasy characters who starred in it. raise your hand if you don't think Oswald has a dozen copies of every game with him on Mickeyjunk Mountain and at least one altered version with him in iiiit
Possible Darkness Powers: Granted, he's not a Kingdom Hearts character, but his canon puts a great deal of importance on the fact he has no heart and his strong feelings towards Mickey. As a result, Oswald has the potential to harness the powers of darkness of the KH world.
Strengths: Difficult to Kill: Given that he is basically a cartoon that can has detachable body parts, and cartoons are notoriously hard to kill, Oswald is no different.
Rabbit powers: Being a rabbit, Oswald is quick. He's implied to have pretty strong legs and not only is known to hop around, but can climb up steep and high places quicker than most others can - and can also reach places others can't.
Luck: Considering he's supposed to be a lucky rabbit, he does have this, apparently, and even having one of his body parts is said to increase the holder's luck. It could also explain how Oswald didn't die at the hands of the Shadow Blot. However...
Weaknesses: Luck: Oswald is probably the unluckiest rabbit ever. EVER. When it comes to his own luck, it absolutely is horrible. Bad things tend to happen to him. A lot.
Thinner: The bane of Oswald's existence. Thinner will drain Oswald's color, and thus his life. With a good splash of thinner, Oswald can be made comatose or killed very easily.
Anvil: For some reason, this also can hurt Oswald. The heavier the anvil, the worse the damage.

http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/Oswald_the_Lucky_Rabbit Appearance:
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4104/5095212808_797937067d.jpg Personality: Oswald is, at first glance, a very resentful, very angry, very jealous little bunny. According to Oswald, this is because of the arrival of a certain world-famous mouse. Oswald used to be popular and loved, but then Mickey appeared and everyone loved him instead, causing everyone to forget Oswald to the point where he lost his heart. Because of this, and despite his attempts to prove his worth to everyone, he was placed in the kingdom where all forgotten characters went. Eclipsed by Mickey, stripped of purpose and abandoned by his father and his cartoon alter ego (Walt Disney and Yen Sid, respectively) in the outside world, and then defeated and outcast in his own home, Oswald's dream, shared by most of the forgotten characters, is to gain a heart and leave the Wasteland. Even if it means taking Mickey's heart, an action, it's impled, Oswald did consider it at some points of the game (though it's also implied that he might not have been the only person).
Not that he likes Mickey a whole lot, though it can't be said that Oswald actually hates the mouse, even if his actions and words at first say he does. Throughout his life, his opinion of the mouse has swung from annoyance to resentment to very brief rage, to confusion and respect and regret, and most emotions in between. The origin of these complicated feelings comes from the knowledge of Mickey's success and his own exile. In Oswald's mind at least, Mickey had everything seemingly fall into his lap without any work, which included things which originally belonged to Oswald, up to and including some of the love of his own family and his subjects. Because of this long-simmering resentment, the bunny has tried to erase all public traces of Mickey's existence from his kingdom, with various successes (the statue of Walt Disney at the end of Mean Street, "Steamboat Oswald" playing in the theater) and failures (Mickeyjunk Mountain, Oswald's own children). Despite doing all of this, and trying to make the kingdom 'his' kingdom, Oswald comments that he can never stop thinking of Mickey or the outside world, no matter how hard he tries, even while knowing everyone else has forgotten him. He always feels that almost anything he does is a competition and comparison between him and Mickey, ranging from the big (their cartoons) to the small (walking up to the rocket launchpad).
However, regardless of Oswald's harping of Mickey, his front of not liking Mickey, and his constant need to seemingly prove himself as being the "real" star of the two and to not be forgotten, the negativity Oswald shows towards the mouse is implied to not be all that it seems and that there is a deeper reason for his anger. In fact there are plenty of hints and reminders of Oswald's respect for Mickey, even before the two cartoons meet. There are houses originally meant for Mickey and Minnie in OsTown from when the kingdom was first built; while Minnie's was given to someone else, Mickey's was left untouched. Gus speaks about how Oswald was considered a decent king who did his best to improve the lives of the forgotten and rejected characters with the aid of the Animatronics, before he was deposed. Oswald will even watch Mickey shorts if a TV is left around him long enough. It's also implied in the additional comics that even though he constantly thought about Mickey, before the Thinner Disaster occurred he had emotional support and other happenings (such as paopu ice cream) which could distract him from those thoughts.
In truth, Oswald was and still is a decent and good rabbit trying to do what he feels is the right thing. He's not above admitting when he's wrong, even when it comes to Mickey. And for all the desire for a heart and for leaving, Oswald ultimately never acts on it. He considers the Wasteland his home, the place he built, the place he ruled. It's his accomplishment, where he did the best he could for everyone. And despite his consideration for Mickey's heart and his attempt to try and manipulate the situation for it, he ultimately knows that it's imperative for Mickey to leave, and thus he does his best to help Mickey out with the rocket, albeit in his own brusque way at first. After Ortensia's locket is returned to him, his treatment of Mickey becomes far less cold, and he even calls Mickey by name for once, as he begins to realize that maybe Mickey didn't just let himself get sent to the Wasteland to steal Oswald's thunder. There are points where he might be too good, though, as he's been known to be easily manipulated by people with their promises of good intentions - he is even, at one point, manipulated slightly by Mickey. He tries to counter this by being distrustful of nearly everyone, particularly of Mickey in the beginning, though in the end it doesn't work too well for him.
It was really due to the events transpired by the Thinner Disaster, in particular the final battle against the Shadow Blot, which did more damage to Oswald's personality than Mickey ever did - and why, when Mickey admitted to causing it, Oswald had flown into such a rage. Many of Oswald's subjects were erased from existence. The Mad Doctor, who Oswald made the mistake of trusting, went and created the Beetleworx for the Shadow Blot. But it was the fate of Ortensia that was most effecting on Oswald. Ortensia was more than just a lover, more than just the mother of his children. She was - is - the most important person in Oswald's life, and the great equalizer in his life - she supported him as king, she showed him he didn't necessarily need a heart to have people love him, she always ; she was also the only one who saw through the Mad Doctor's treachery beforehand and was the only one who stood by him against the Blot during the final battle. The loss was - is - overwhelming, to the point where he didn't care what happened to everyone else in the Wasteland for some time after.
The influence of Ortensia's life, love and subsequent fate fueled Oswald's anger in his imposed isolation, but it also later drove Oswald to actually try to give Mickey a chance at various times throughout the game ("Ortensia would want me to be more friendly"). In that light, his desire for Mickey's heart may stem less from his resentment towards the mouse (though, again, he does possess some genuine jealousy towards Mickey) and more from his desire to not be alone anymore and to have someone - anyone - love him again like Ortensia did.
Strengths: Underdog: Considering his own experiences, Oswald is the kind of guy who will root for the underdog. After all, he knows what it's like to not be the favorite one, to be set aside for someone else.
Determination: Oswald can display a great deal of determination when he puts his mind onto something. When it comes to certain things he doesn't give up easily and goes in to win it. Especially given that he's been dreaming and trying to get out of Wasteland for decades...
Kindness: It's there. He might show it a bit brusquely but it's there. And he won't readily admit it, but he even might be nice to Mickey (though still, it's many times a reluctant act when it comes to the mouse).
Good Intentions: Oswald is, at the core of his being, a good guy. He wants to do the best he can in his circumstances. Hence why he's spent years ruling Wasteland and trying to build it up, even while wishing he was back on the outside, because he wanted everyone to have a good life regardless.
Ortensia: The memory of Ortensia is a double-edged sword. Ortensia was the person who always encouraged Oswald to be a better bunny and was his moral compass. It's in her memory that Oswald struggles to do good things, or to be kinder to Mickey. However...
Weaknesses: Ortensia: ...her memory is a big weakness as well. Also the lack of her. When Ortensia was sacrificed Oswald practically lost himself for years and found himself struggling much more to do the right thing. The thought of her return - or the thought that Mickey had a hand in her fate, now that he knows of it - can be easily used against him.
Mickey Mouse: Oswald's feelings about Mickey are another big weakness. Mickey is the reason he lost his heart, his home, his family and his reason for existing, but also, Mickey is his half-brother and is, for all technical purposes, Oswald's only living family besides his kids. Mickey is also someone who's helped out the people of Wasteland when Oswald couldn't. Oswald's currently very angry at Mickey due to his canon point, but normally his feelings towards Mickey are more complicated, and they can be manipulated in order to make Oswald do things.
Short-Tempered: Oswald tends to snap pretty easily, sometimes just by someone staring at him, and is also pretty impatient.
Anger/Jealousy/Resentment: Most of it is directed towards Mickey, but it's not just him. Oswald has varying levels of resentment towards his subjects, Mickey's fans and friends, and even members of his own family because they like Mickey or because Mickey caused everyone to forget about him. At times this can make him a bit difficult to befriend and deal with, especially on a bad day.
Manipulating 'Prowess'/Subtlety: Despite his initial attempt to manipulate the situation with Mickey, Oswald is hardly a Machiavellian genius. Nor is he very good at hiding all of his feelings - a silver-tongued person he is not.
Heart: Oswald has no heart. Because it's in the nature of nearly every forgotten character, he will do anything to have one. Particularly Mickey's, because it's so full of everyone's love, which he believes he lacks.
Manipulated: Oswald is very easily manipulated, despite everything, especially when it comes to promises of proving himself, regaining his heart, and anything regarding Ortensia or Mickey. He's tricked by the Mad Doctor first, and then he's used by the Shadow Blot. He's even tricked by Mickey at one point in the game.
Stubborn: Yeah. Oswald doesn't like admitting that he might be wrong about people. He can be pretty bull-headed about it, even if he will eventually admit being wrong.

Action/Journal Sample: --Hey! Hey! Is this darn thing on!?
[Look, it's Mickey!...with long rabbit ears? Wait a minute. It...looks a bit like Mickey, albeit Mickey in the Timeless River, but...those ears. It can't be the King. But whoever it is, they do not look happy.]
Right. Listen up! I'm lookin' for a mouse. My height, stumpy years, beady eyes, wears red shorts and white gloves. Goes by the name of M-I-C-K-E-Y.
[Anything not to say his name again. That slimeball touched her locket. The very thought causes him to grind his teeth. Finally he growls and points his finger at the screen. The more he speaks, the more visibly agitated he gets, the louder his voice gets.]
...Hnn! I bet he's watching this right now! Ruining my home wasn't enough for ya, huh? Didn't get your jollies makin' the Shadow Blot, did you? Now this!? You do this!?
[And finally, he explodes in anger, outright screaming at the communicator. And his anger is enough that his ears literally pop out of his head, shaking with rage.]
AND DON'T YOU BE ALL 'AWWW I'M SORRY' 'BOUT IT EITHER! I KNOW YOU DID IT, MOUSE! I KNOW HOW YOU ARE NOW! AND I AIN'T TAKIN' IT NO MORE!! I'LL--
[The communicator suddenly cuts. For a good three minutes. When it switches back on, only the Traverse Town fountain can be seen. Pretty isn't it.
Then the rabbit's voice comes back on. And by the tone of his voice he is still hopping mad *rimshot*.]
See this? You and me, mouse, we're gonna settle this. Once and for all! Rabbit to mouse! Right here! Fisticuffs only! I wanna see how much of a big star you are without using that paintbrush or whatever it is you're using in this place to cheat! You hear me!? One hour! You have one hour!!
[And suddenly, the rabbit...thing's pissed off eyes fill the screen.]

RP Sample: "But Oswald, WE can't leave. We don't have hearts!"
Oswald hadn't answered Gus's concerns. In his mind, they didn't matter in the end. All he could think of, as he made his was through the Plutopia portal, was about the mouse. How yet again he'd arrived, and everyone fawned over him and wanted to help him. Always. Everyone always loved Mickey Mouse.
It never ended, did it?
"Resent you? Hah!" Oswald grumbled as he leaped through the portal and into Tomorrow City, sailing over an unsuspecting cadre of Splatters. "What kind of question is that? What reason shouldn't I resent you, mouse? You thieving, cheating, limelight-hogging...!"
It wouldn't take too long for him to get to the rocket launchpad. He knew all of the secret passages, all of the ways to get there. Once he got there, though, guess who wasn't there? Not Mickey.
No, instead it was the Mad Doctor. And before Oswald could stop him, the scientist was gone, carrying various rocket pieces in his arms, cackling a "nyeh-heh-heh!" as he fled.
"Why you...!!" Oswald could only stomp his feet. "Get back here!!"
The one chance for Oswald? Mickey to escape...it was gone. At least for now. Someone had to go after the parts so Oswald could fix the rocket. Well, if someone had to do it, it wasn't going to be him. There was no way he could battle so many Blots on his own, much less get the parts back from those who possessed it.
Figures. Just my luck...
Any thoughts and plots of sabotaging Mickey's bid for freedom and paying him back vanished with that - especially since that bid for freedom was practically shelved indefinitely. At least until someone got the parts back. And there was only one person who could go and do that - much as Oswald hated to admit it. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad asking for the mouse for help. Maybe.
In the meantime, all Oswald could do was wait for the others to arrive with a slightly annoyed sigh.
"C'mon...we don't have all day, mouse..."
Have you read the rules & F.A.Q.s? Yeeeees~
