As the last long weekend of the summer wraps up its time to get back to school, back to work, back to reality. I feel like Ive had the summer Ive been waiting for my whole life.
First there was folkfest. It happens every yea but everyyear its a big part of my summer, probably one of the best parts of my summer. It wasn't any different this year. It was an unusally large group out this year, more then the years past. It was great because it was all the best people, the group must just be expanding with new friends, new bf's and new gfs. That weekend i realized who my real friends were and who i should be surrounding myself with in the future.
Lyndon bought a 2006 Blue Honda Civic Seden. Its sweet and makes life alot easier for both him and I. Also im on the way to being a "normal" human been and am learning to drive. So exciting !!!
Next was the road trip to wisconsin to see Primus. A few of our good friends and me and lyndon all decided to goto wisconsin to see primus. Its not my favorite band but I was in because i wanted to have a good road trip experience with some of my best friends. This just happens to be their favorite band and they havent ever had the opportunity to see them. The whole trip was hectic, rushed and full of drama. We left friday morning, drove all day then slept. Saturday we went to the festavil all day, saw bands and just chilled until we got back to the hotel and partied till 5. sunday we checked out ate breakfast and got on the road at about 1. We ended up driving until 5 am when we arrived back at home. It wasnt the best roadtrip experience but it was alright.
Next was the road trip to calgary to see tool. We decided since we were driving all that way out there that we would really get our moneys worth and do what there was to do and see what there was to see. Our friend moved to RedDear so we got him a ticket as well and were able to visit him and see how hes doing now. Ray and Brian were supposed to drive and come out with us but Ray hurt his leg and bitched out the last minute and ended up making the trip as expensive as it could be for everyone. We werent going to let them ruin our holiday though. Me and Lyndon ended up leaving at around 11 in the morning on Monday because a week earliar i lost my id going to tijuanas and i wasnt going to go alberta without an id. so we got that and headed on our way. Lyndon drove all day and i slept and kept him company at about 10 we were and hour from calgary and just stayed in some cheap hotel in this little town. It was 60$ a night and had everything that we needed at that point. In the morning (TUESDAY) we woke up and started driving. We drove thru Calgary and onto Banff. It was awesome . Banff is so beautiful and romantic. We ended up splurging in banff and getting a hotel at 150$. It was nice and had to Beds. We dropped off our stuff and took a gondala up the mountain where we sat down had a drink and ate lunch. After getting down from the gondala we were going to go in the hotsprings until we found out it was just a small hottubish pool filled with oldpeople and i thought that was weird. We just headed back to our hotel and decided to walk around banff and check out all the cool stores. It was so nice. So expensive but nice. We got drunk later on in the evening and walked around some bit then headed back to our hotel. the next morning (WEDNESDAY) was a little hectic. I wont get into it but it was hectic. We headed back to calgary to get ray , brian and jared at the greyhound stop. They all didnt get in till around 5 so me and lyndon drove to some park in calgary and had a nap together in some park. It was really cute. Some lady thought it was a bit weird and asked us if we had somewhere better to sleep but we just told her we were enjoying the day. We picked up our friends and found a cheap hotel that was 2 rooms and 3 beds. we also blew up an airmattress we all stayed there for the calgary part of our trip. The first night in Calgary we all took it easy in the hotel because we new we'd need the strength for the next day. THURSDAY! the best day and the whole reason for our trip, TOOL PART I! So we left the hotel at around 5. ray and brian left earliar so it was jared, lyndon and i. We took the train to downtown and got off at some random stop and just started walking. We walked and walked until we found this bar. It was probably around 6 by this point and the bar was already packed. We had some drinks and helded to the sadde dome. Tool was absolutly mind blowing. Friday! we dropped jared off and headed to edmonton for TOOL PART II. I was tired from all the excitment the night before so i got like no sleep and was grumpy. The show wasnt as good as calgarys but how could it be. I cant even handle being at their show 2 days in a row nevermind putting on the show. SATURDAY was our day at Edmonton mall. We went on all the waterslides and just swam all day before driving halfway back to Reddear to stay the night. SUNDAY was spent making our way back to winnipeg.
I feel like this summers been amazing and its perfect timing. Im turning 20 in October. Im starting a coarse thats going to teach me to become a professional body peircer. I feel like my teen years are over and it might be time to get a little bit more serious about life. I feel like im finally ready to do that..im so excited.
