Sick...
Nicholas has been very sick this past week. The poor guy has/had a bladder infection, sinus infection and pneumonia. He had a fever last Sunday, but I thought it was just a teething fever. By that evening it was over 103. I took him to the Dr. on Monday and he didn't know what it was. I got a prescription for amoxicillin, but it didn't seem to help. Nicholas was having high fevers, he even hit 105.7 :( and so Tuesday night the Dr. wanted him to go into the ER. We checked in at 7:15 and did not see a Dr. until 11PM. That is where we got the diagnoses (only after an x-ray and a catheter of urine!) and was also told he was mildly dehydrated. We got a script for augmentin, a very powerful ant-biotic. Wednesday he still had very high fevers so I had to take him on Thursday morning for blood work.
He is doing better now, his blood work came back ok. The fevers are gone, but you can still hear the 'rattle' in his chest from the pneumonia. He is very clingy right now and freaks out when I am gone, even for a second. Poor baby, it kills me to see him in pain or upset. :(
I have also been job hunting. There is a very big chance that Madison Center will lose about 37% of it's funding come May due to the fact that Indiana does not want to pay their share of medicaid. Argh! So I am looking. This might be a good thing though. I have gotten comfortable in the two+ years I have worked there and I really need/want to be working in my field or something related to it.
The unfortunate part is I might have to move to do this. I really don't want to move. I would like to find something at a newspaper or an ad firm if I can. I have been sending out tons of resumes, but who knows how well all that is going to go over. All of my actual work experience has nothing to do with what I want to do. I have my self employed and volunteer work. I hope that counts for something.
