Art: Offspring of Silence for Fossarian
Wow, check me out, being all productive and stuff. I am starting to think that a masterpost could well be in order soon.
Anyway, Once upon a time,fossarian wrote a glorious fic called Offspring of Silence which is a wonderful tale exploring Cas/Jimmy's relationship pre-vesseling. I read this fic and let me tell you...my brain exploded. After a while I decided to scoop up all that exploded brain-matter and paint a picture for her to show my love and appreciation for a story that truly defined the term OTP for me.
Inspiration: Aaron Horkey. This guy's awesome, I love his illustrations and have a fat print of the poster he did for Genghis Tron's 'Board Up The House' tour on my wall. Look...LOOOK AT THE BEAUTY!!!
Issues:
~De-aging Misha Collins as Jimmy to approx 17/19 years in age. I have never tried to do this before and portraiture is still very much a work in progress. And Misha Collins without stubble and eye-bags? Doesn't look like Misha Collins. I used a reference from 5x04 'The End' although it now looks nothing like that so...yeah.
~Originally my Jimmy was dressed in a T-shirt, but due to the de-aging I wanted to provide more of a visual clue as to who he is meant to be, hence the overcoat and button-down.
~I can't draw an angel without wings. I'm sorry. I just can't do it.
And: I am really freakin' proud of this. It's not often that I think 'wouldn't this look cool...' and it actually turns out that way. AND I always embrace the chance to draw something creepy! \o/
