Hey Nancy? Do you mind if I ask you a couple of questions about being an angel?

You weren't born an angel, were you? Something happened that made you one?

Yes, it was only a week or so before I came to London. I don't know quite how to explain it, really. 'An old friend of mine who was killed now lives in my head' makes me sound crazy, doesn't it?

Do you mind asking why you'd like to know?

Cos I think something like it has happened to someone I know, and I just... want to know as much as I can about things like this.

Like, Peter's explained there's a difference between people who are born angels or demons and people who, uh, aquire it. You didn't ask for it, did you?

I didn't ask... but given the choice now I think I would have accepted it anyway.

So the spirit saw something in you that was angelic, like it? There was some sort of sameness, right?

And it does, uh, talk to you? Can it make you do things?

The spirit- her name is Pati. And yes, there was a sameness about us, even when she was alive.

And she does speak to me, but we've established a certain amount of respect between us. She comments on most things I do and sometimes when she thinks I should be doing things differently, she'll try and talk me into her way of thinking, but she understands where to draw the line. And if she does pry into the most personal parts of my mind, I never know about it, and she never comments on it. I don't believe she'd do that, though.

Only very occasionally will she take control of my body, though. That time you and Josie come over to our house- I was telling Scarlett not to open the door without knowing why, because it wasn't me talking. When I'm taken off gaurd like that, she'll take over for a moment, like a knee-jerk reaction.

But if she really really wants you to do something, and you don't want to do it, you can stop her, right?

We've never had any serious disagreements so I can't really answer that. I think it depends how strong your friend's will is compared with the will of the spirit.
