Oh yes! If you have to lift your entire body into the air using nothing but your arms, you'd be pretty strong too!
Though I might be doing it wrong. I'm basing it on that one Darksun game I played where 20 was the max, but I just now realized 18 is probably the actual max in DND terms.
I might edit it with this in mind. If I do, I sure hope this doesn't confuse anyone!
Don't forget his main weapon IS punching people, and he's punched out quite a few people.
It makes perfect sense for Sekani to have a high str, though his speed should DEFINITELY be higher, as that was highlighted as his main feature a few times.
Keep in mind that this is normal Sekani, not Majibeast sekani. His flight speed and maneuverability were greatly enhanced by his final transformation. His original self couldn't even take off inside unless it was a really large room, but as a Majibeast he can fly pretty much anywhere because he's that awesome now.
I don't know a whole lot about DnD, but IIRC 10 is supposed to be human-average. I don't know if there's supposed to be a max. Roguelikes, which I'm far more familiar and comfortable with, generally have absurdly high maxes (which people STILL reach) because people that play roguelikes have a tendency to be min/maxers. :) Although one time I managed to overflow my weight-capacity and instantly killed myself from what I was holding in ADOM... that was probably taking it a bit *too* far.
Anyways, the real issue to me is that it his wing/arm strength is more a specialized, focused strength that can only be used in specific ways, rather than a generalized strength that can be used in most any way (even if he has massively strong arms, I'd probably bet he'd be unable to actually walk if his arms held as much as they could carry). Although I have to admit I don't care for systems that decide to have separate strengths for each limb (*cough*IVAN*cough*) so yeah. My comment's more a difference of opinion on the system than anything I guess.
I have a story in the works that explains all kinds of little details like this, but for TQ I decided to hand-wave nitpicks in favor of telling a story without spending hours figuring out the specifics of things like how Sekani flies with wings that clearly aren't large enough to life someone that size.
So don't sweat the details, they aren't all that important for this story. I'm making the stats up just as something fun to post, so take them with a grain of salt.
also that should probably be species, not race. Just to nitpick.

Also, his wisdom is more like 10, if not 8.
