On The Black Donnellys

Okay, so, The Black Donnellys. I've watched the first few episodes, right, and it took me until the second to figure out why the eldest brother, Jimmy, the one with the limp, looked so familiar. But it finally clicked, when I caught him at an angle while he was on the phone.

He was in SANDLOT.

Man, I used to love that movie as a kid. It was the movie to play during rainy days in school. Except when high school hit, then it was October Sky which I also loved, too. I was an easy to please kid during "movie" days in classes.

After I'd figured out who Jimmy was, though, my second thought was: huh, he kind of got a bit thick round the middle, didn't he?

Also, why does he look nothing like the child who plays him and/or his brothers? Getting his leg run over would not change his face.

As for the show itself... it sucks a whole lot, but I can't help being amused by Joey "Ice Cream". He is seriously the only reason I moved passed episode one. Like... he's so fucking annoying, yet lovely. What a complete fucking bitch and why is he talking (even if it is just bullshit he's spewing), doesn't he know the rules... but, yeah. Joey "Ice Cream" makes the show. Everyone else is a puppet in his brain. Looking at it like that, the show becomes tolerable, if not interesting or enjoyable.
