Summer: Over?
So far, I think this is going to be a pretty sweet year.
I have a bunch of art classes, which make me feel motivated and capable again. That's great because I've been running low on confidence : p I haven't had my drawing class yet, but I'm sure as hell looking forward to it. Even though I've had two days of school so far, it still feels like summer to me.
I can't wait for Halloween. Erin and I went snooping around in the new costume store they opened up at Westland Mall. All the girl's costumes are slutty, but somehow I was convinced to try two on... ...and I think I liked one of them. I'm not so sure if I'd go as far as buying one though. I still have two months, so I'm hoping to find a better idea than that.
I'm getting pretty interested in the presidential election. A few weeks ago, I bet Danny $5 that Obama would win. I've watched bits and pieces of the democratic and republican conventions, but I want to look up more of their speeches. If I'm voting for Obama, I want to have good reasons for it, other than the fact that he has a dangerously trustworthy manner about him.
I got my new MacBook this week and I LOVE IT : D It's a lot different than anything else I've ever used so I feel a little awkward on it, but once I get the hang of it I'll love it that much more. It's freaking awesome to have a computer all to myself. I've always hated typing with other people in the room, but that's not a problem anymore.
I convinced my mom to let me redesign my room, since I'll probably be living in it for a little while longer. No idea what I'm gonna do, I just know I want to do SOMETHING. The blue feels a little intense to me. I want something darker, calmer, sexier. Probably a deep red. I told her I'd pay and paint everything myself, all she has to do is put up with my furniture all over the place for a few weekends. And I have a lot of things I want to dig up and throw away. Time to finally forget and move on.
Oh, and apparently my art history class plans a trip to a foreign country every year, and this spring they'll be going to Paris. I've got a ton of money saved up and it's only September, so I'm totally planning on going. They'll come out with more information about it in a month or so. I was planning on traveling with all my money as it was. Now I just have a better excuse that'll convince my mom to let me go : )
And that trip sounds AMAZING, but I recently found out that the world's calender is off by four years, meaning it's not 2008, it's 2012. So, I'd love to go to Paris in the spring, but that's only if the apocalypse doesn't wipe us all out in the winter. Yeah, that would be cool if that didn't happen. I think it's gonna be a gamma ray, but that's just my theory.
