Moving and Checkouts and DM training, oh my!

Wow, I haven't posted in a while. Lots has happened.

Wednesday was like the longest day of my life. Not bad, just long. It was the first day of Desk Manager training (8:30-5) and the last day of Summer of Excellence (EVERYONE was checking out) so on my lunch break from DM training and the hour after I finished, I was helping with checkouts. Residence life also expected all the program assistants out of the building by 6 pm but were kind enough to say we could just have our keys returned by Thursday morning. Thing is, it was also the last day of my online class, and my final project was due. So here was my schedule.

7:30 wake up
8:30-12:00 DM training
12:00-1:00 help with checkouts
1:00-5:00 DM training
5:00-6:00 help with checkouts
6:00-10:30 final project for nutrition class
10:30-1:00 pack up my room
1:00-1:30 wait for it to stop raining so we can pack up the truck
1:30-3:00 load up Leslie's truck and move my and David's stuff between light rain showers (computer + truck bed + rain = bad)
3:00-5:00 help Leslie move her stuff to KaHu residence hall
5:30 SLEEP - I slept at David's cause uh, my room consisted of a pile of boxes and bags on the floor

7:00 wake up
8:00 -5:30 pm DM training on 1 and 1/2 hours of sleep
Wash, rinse, repeat

Anyhow, Thursday Lisa and her mom and sister came down to help her move, and Brianna was still here before her Vegas trip she left for today, so after training we had some fun roommate bonding time. Lisa went to dinner with her family, but after she came back I made delicious greek salads with chicken for me and Brianna (triple hearts lettuce, spinach, roma tomato, kalamata olives, feta, pepperocini, and chicken cooked in Greek dressing) and Brianna made us margaritas, and we all watched Across the Universe. I was SO EXHAUSTED but it was fun girly time.

So, I had my first night ever sleeping somewhere off campus I can call mine. I've slept at friends' houses, or gone to SC for visits between different residence hall residencies, but it's exciting to be off campus at last. I'm still getting my fill of residence life with DM training. You know, ease out slowly. :-)

Alas, I have to decorate and prepare not one, but TWO front desks tomorrow, so I need my beauty rest before I meet with my hall directors and such.

dm, roomies
