works in progress
i'm taking my own merry time in my class while everyone is racing through a minimum of 10 projects, vases and bowls and dolls and whatever. some of them, people and/or projects, are really cool. it's easiest because i've decided i don't NEED to be there. i've already taken this class and i'm just playing around for myself. i'm busy doing some kind of emotional capsule for 2008 involving hands lemons and bodies.
everyone is talking about how the last 2 and a half months have felt like months and how, since the year has already felt like 6+ months long, the rest of 2009 will continue its "epic" progressions in its various definitions. i'm supposedly going to LA at the end of the week with some bros, and it feels like the equivalent to jumping out of a plane. not something i really want to be doing, but i'm going to do it anyway (and hope and pray my rats survive off of their giant bowls of food for 4 days). after returning, or if it doesn't happen, i'm cranking the jobsearch dial up another notch. i have one minor lead that i'm silently daydreaming about, but I as usual just need to set priorities straight.
i've met so many people in the last couple of months and i'm building myself some kind of fortress of friends. collecting inspirational and crazy stories/people. reading. (i found saul williams and fell in love!) and soaking shit in. and it sounds really gay, but i've apparently been joining some people in their searches for themselves?, so i'm told, which i like. really like. uncontrollably.
at some point, this year's resolutions included that i thrust myself into a million awkward situations and hope for the best. so far, i am great.
