I'm back, what was originally meant to be a 2 part blog has turned into a 3+ part "saga".
Let's get the ball rolling again, but before we get started there was an observation I made that I'd like to comment on
I have never seen so many "well groomed" people in one place before. I mean it wasn't even 9am by the time I got in and about 90% of the people there looked pretty damn spiffy (especially someone 2 or so peeps in front of me)...though some did over do it in some cases, like a random guy with heavily, heavily moussed or gelled hair, a shirt that read "I party like Kate Moss" and a big ol' cardboard sign reading something like "Pick me Big Bro"
Enough of that...
----------
So after about 40 minutes of standing around and having the queue slowly move forward we progressed towards two doors. Along the way there was a bunch of Big Brother logos mentioning what this is in case we needed reminded.
At the two doors there were a couple of peeps that work at the venue (I'm assuming), they would tell people to wait if there were too many people queued up in this smaller room.
Anyway, I made my way through the doors and I saw more security barricades and the queue continuing.
A blurry shot of the next room.
Throughout the initial start of the room, there were a number of pillars around. Pinned to either side of these were legal disclaimers about what we could potentially be letting ourselves into it (about how it might be televised and things of that nature).
The queue moved forward a little bit before it seemed to come to a stand still again, I took the picture above during that and as you can see I couldn't see that much initially. I did see a number of people who I assume work for Endemol productions/Brighter Picture productions/Channel 4 as a couple of them were rocking Big Brother 8 shirts.
So the queue again began to move forward and where I was now standing it was now a straight run from where I was to the front of the queue. It was around here that it kind of sunk in that I was here and what might be involved as the morning progressed.
As we slowly moved forward, the "heavy" gay guy next to me was talking to his boyfriend about how he was getting really nervous and wanted him to audition with him, the other guy was having none of it.
Funny thing was, I was standing there listening to him and I realised that I was anything but nervous. I was more "amped up" if anything (and even then that is a major if) as I didn't have a fucking clue as to what to expect in the "group stage".
As I was standing there, I saw that more people were slowly making their way into this room. Including a guy who was wearing a sunflower costume /head piece thing around his head...yeah that was my reaction as well.
The two women in the black were wearing those BB8 shirts I was talking about, the guy in the middle was working with them and the peeps to the right were the groups we would eventually get broken up into.
...to be continued...
