Yeah yeah yeah I'm updating. It's been busy in the life of Amy lately. The construction workers from the house next door managed to do so much damage to our house that now we have to relocate. Apparently they put holes in our roof so the ceiling was leaking (however we have dropped ceilings so couldn't notice it). We only noticed after we got all that rain about a month ago and EVERYTHING leaked and flooded. Then the inspectors come in and tell us that it's all our fault because we didn't notice it sooner. Yes, because Charles and I often walk on our roof and look behind our walls/ceiling tiles in order to notice this kind of thing. We called our insurance company and raised hell, got other inspectors to come out and now things are working in the right direction. However they did give us the news (after a 6 hour inspection!) that during this work we can't live in the house. Our insurance company pays for a place to go in case of this situation, but trying to find an apt to rent with a month by month lease, that allows pit bulls, and in Baltimore City but not in the ghetto, was impossible. Luckily my in-laws (damn it's still funny to say that) are letting us use the Bay house in Pasadena while they are in Utah for the winter. Sweeeeeet!!! I am very excited about that. After we are settled in there in a couple of weeks, there will be a "not our house" house warming party. Also since "mom" (Maggie's mom) is moving, I will be taking Ubel back :). I hope she gets along with the other critters. I don't expect a problem but I'm not sure how the Fuzz will be able to understand that another cat will now be pooping in the same box. Poor stupid Fuzz.

Back to some issues I wished to touch on before:
The Millions More March on DC back in mid-October and leaders of this movement. Charles and I went down to visit his parents at their condo in DC (right near all the government buildings--I think it's NW) the day after this event and we all went for a walk on the mall. As we were walking I was looking at copious amounts of garbage and kept noticing the same flier blowing around on the ground. I got Charles to grab one (because we all know how much I love germs) and we read it. At the top of the flier in big bold print were the words "WHITE MAN IS THE DEVIL." The rest of the one sided paper briefly discussed the "New Black Panther Party" and it's mission statement. Now I rarely get into all this politicially charged crap because it just makes me more irritated than it's worth, but I did look into this because all the hoopla surrounding Louis Farrakhan hating Jews. Supposedly, Farrakhan doesn't hate Jews, despite calling them "bloodsuckers" and defends himself as being taken out of context (among many other statements and accusations of anti-semitic comments). He promotes peace and compromise. OK great for him. I also happened to look into this New Black Panther party and it's leader Malik Zulu Shabazz (I guess this office was inherited or something). Mr. Shabazz has made such comments as "death to Israel," "the white man is the devil," and "Kill every goddamn Zionist in Israel! Goddamn little babies, goddamn old ladies! Blow up Zionist supermarkets!" Wow look at all those uplifting comments!! Now obviously Mr. Shabazz has some kind of agenda against Zionists and white people, and has never disputed this, so I'll just stay out of his way. However Mr. Farrakhan keeps talking out of both sides of his mouth about these issues and can't seem to make up his mind. He makes comments that are bold and attention getting and then when negative attention is recieved and quickly recants. If he is for such peace and harmony, why would he tolerate such fliers for blantant racism being distributed at this function? I have written an email to the address listed at the Nation of Islam website asking these questions, however have not received a response. I shall touch on other issues later. I am tired and leaving work....to go home and pack.....
