So new music releases don't really excite me as much as new movie releases. That's why I was pretty surprised when I would up in Best Buy twice in two weeks, purchasing albums on the first day they came out. Though I wouldn't say that anyone has to run out and get any of these, I'm glad to be blowing through my tax refund. Here's what I got:

Sorry that Moz disappointed you. Maybe the chorus of children has something to do with his priest persona. Those kind of suitcases rule.

The BTS album isn't as good as Keep It Like a Secret either (though it might average out to being better than Ancient Melodies). I do think they're having the same problem that Ben Folds had on the last album: writing the music first and thinking of the words later in a way that makes some of the songs seem dispassionate.

I like Melodies better than Secret, which might seem strange but I wasn't ever really able to get into Secret. I see what you mean about the new one being dispassionate, though. That's right on the money.

"Center of the Universe" and "You Were Wrong" and "The Plan"! And also "Time Trap" and who doesn't love "Carry the Zero"? Melodies only has three good songs. Granted, they are also three GREAT songs, but the loooonng middle of the album is pretty damn boring.

I love love love "You Were Wrong." The rest I know are BTS fan favorites (especially "Carry the Zero"), but not mine. I guess I'm just a BTS anomaly! I would rather listen to "Strange" than "The Plan," and I'd rather listen to "Fly Around My Pretty Little Miss" than any of them!
