And it's gone way too far.

So, in this post, I complained that I never had any news to report. Today, I finally have news. I bought a car!

Before I talk about the new car, I just wanted to pay homage to my old car, whom I've had since I was a sophomore in college. I figured the best way honor a pretty crappy car is through pretty crappy poetry. So here goes. I tried to not let the quality of the poem exceed the quality of my car, and also convey my conflicted feelings about it. And yes, the last line is true, and will soon be the fate of my Corsica once I get the new one registered.

Ode to Irving/Owen/Grandpa's Car/The Corsica

*

You were a good car
And a shitty car
Both at the same time

Your first stop
Was with Pop-op
But then you were mine

I must admit
It was a hit
When we went to Montreal

But it really sucked
And cost big bucks
When your brakes didn't work at all

Since we were tight
I was all right
With shrugging off jeers and honks

And though now you're crappy
I hope you'll be happy
At that chop shop in the Bronx

*I thought I had a real photo of this piece of junk, but no, it's too ugly for film. This terrible photo of me is the only photo I have of the Corsica. I could've sworn I had one from the Montreal trip, but it must be in Michelle's photo album. Damn this collective memory!
