Misty Morning Fog

Things I learned about Western New York this weekend:

*It's not actually that hard to get to--provided you fly. I swear we took off, they said it was okay to use electronic devices, I listened to four songs on my iPod, and then they said we had to shut off the electronic devices to land. The time it took us to get from the apartment to the airport was longer than the flight. I felt very jet-setty.

*While I heard some midwesternish-sounding accents, no one actually said "pop."

*Don't try the Bug Jar homebrew.

*Wegmans really is as big as everyone says it is. (I've never been to a Wegmans before.)

*If you go visit Niagara Falls in October, it will be cold, it will be windy, it will be damp and misty, and there will be lake-effect snow, but it will be totally worth it. The best part is getting to take pictures like this:

*Betty's makes an amazing dinner.

*Jesse's grandma's lasagna and meatballs are even better.

*No matter how plugged-in children can get, they're still fascinated by hand-clap games.
