I would say it was the "older" Murder by Death songs that I liked more -- the stuff they played in the first 20-30 minutes with more varying instrumentation. I got a little bored of them after that. But I might buy their album for $4 if I saw it at Permament Records. Same goes for Megafaun.

Wait, they played a few songs, and then in the middle of the set they said they were switching to play some older stuff that people would know better, and it got boring. I think we liked the same songs, but I also think the stuff they played first was newer.

You're right! Somehow I misread you and then reversed my own opinion to match. Yes, the newer/earlier-set stuff was better. Which is good. It would suck if they started going downhill before anyone had heard of them.
