hello, livejournal. i'm here. after 6 or so years.

still connected, still enthralled with the idea of an cyber nation at the reach of our fingertips.

i remember when AOL came out. my family didn't have it, just an old Macintosh that gave me the ability to listen to En Vogue cd's, play ancient versions of Lemmings and Prince of Persia, and give me a notepad to write personal blogs on. i had no idea these were "blogs." to me, they were just electronic journal entries.

so i wasn't able to chat on AOL messenger when it arrived, but boy did i have a hayday with it when i was at my friend's house. even in fifth grade (1995?) when the elusive "chat room" was introduced to me and the idea that you could talk to someone you didn't know who had no idea who YOU were from across the country through a KEYBOARD, i was thrilled! so amazed, i obsessed over it when i was visiting my friends. they probably think that i used them just to get to the internet!

so now, 15 years later, i am still so intrigued and so very grateful for such a blessing.

thank you, world wide web. this one goes out to you.
