A swamp dragon?

My wife raises them. This one followed me here when the deities all came back.

Oh. Can I see it? Does it breath fire?

Sure you can. And not anymore, he's too old for it. They only breathe fire when theyre fighting each other, or mating. Sometimes both at once.

Oh. How big are they?

Most never get bigger than two feet across, some get as big as three. Dribble's small for his type.

So... about a foot and a half?

Around there, yes. Doesn't have any teeth, so he's pretty much harmless now that his fire's out.

Oh... Do they have any special needs?

[slightly_knurd]

Well, he'll eat anything you put in front of him whether or not it's good for his stomach. He'll settle for a few coal scraps and he's got flame enough to light a few matches but that's about it. And he likes curling around your neck, if you'll let him.

Oh.... You think I could keep him?

...He likes kids. You wouldn't mind it?

Not at all! I've never had a pet before!

Come by police headquarters and you can have him, Lyra. He'll be glad to go to a good home.
