You've been in the force long enough, Ryuzaki, you start becoming an expert on suspicious. Like being paranoid, only you tend to be right most of the time.
I absolutely will not compromise direct orders, and especially not to a civilian. Especially not to a civilian in that run-down casino in the Underground around after dark. It would be an insult to the badge and the job.

Do not misunderstand. I have been an investigator since I was only eight years old. I am young, but I have a great deal of experience. Like you, my judgment of character is often correct.
My concern is that the Warden may mislead the force due to his own lack of professional experience in law enforcement.
I suppose my point is...Trust your own instinct over his. And I am here if a second opinion is needed.

There's been too many lives lost over the actions of well-meaning, inexperienced people. Especially when thrust into a position of power.
I know well enough to trust myself first. Especially in concerns with the Warden. He's trying, that much is certain. But we've all got a long way to go and I don't know if he's got what it takes, yet. It'll be a learning experience for us all.

In my short time here, I've seen more guns than I can count. On what I'm assuming are civilians.
They're not exactly common where I come from, and if this Watch gets up off the ground I'm dreading putting a load of recruits up against them, much less give them guns to defend themselves with. There's got to be some sort of bullet-protecting armor. Do they have that in your world?

I'll look into that, then. Got to move with the times, adjust to the thousands of weapons people manage to dream up from the depths of a copper's worst nightmares.

There were wizards in my city. Didn't have much interest in joining, kept to themselves in their university. Law-abiding people, but...well, it's a tricky thing, magic. It's not something you can rely on, something that's sturdy. If you start messing around with magic, it's hard to tell where it ends.
Protection from other magic might be..acceptable. What's he like, this Harry?

I am talented, it is true, but only one man. I cannot be everywhere.

Neither can I. Neither can anyone. But we'll get there, in time.

Also, if he gives the police any direct orders once the force is arranged then could you let me know what the order is? I mean...please do so.

I am not, however, certain about how to protect the Watch from magic or enchantments. Harry Dresden may have some ideas about that.
