I left a note for Rourke earlier today, squeezed down to a point where only his microscopic vision could tell it wasn't just another pixel-dot. I told him
what I found out and how I found it, told him to come and talk to me, because I knew he'd care and we have to figure out what to do next.
Then I went to talk to other people. Big mistake. Big enough to make me wonder if involving Rourke was the same kind of mistake.
Everyone I've gone to so far - Petalan from Utopia, Chen from Novelty, Rhys and Chowdiah from the Calcutta PD, even that AP reporter - is either part of the cover-up (maybe out of ignorance) or hostile to the notion of a conspiracy. Obviously, if you're not part of Utopia's "solution," you're part of the problem. And Utopia's got almost everyone involved as part of the solution on some level.
We can't even go to Utopia's enemies; we can't even be sure Utopia didn't invent those enemies as a smokescreen. The Directive is definitely anti-nova; if we told them about something that looks like a plan to wipe out novas, they'd throw a party. The Teragen is right about Utopia using novas, but they're wrong about us not being human; this whole thing matters because we're human.
I'm going to have to disappear.
Leave a note for André. Tell him to get all our friends together and let them know how deep the rabbit hole goes. Tell them about the world that Utopia's pulled over our eyes to blind us to the truth - that novas are slaves, disposable slaves. But we can only show them the door. They're the ones that have to walk through it.
