Pushing on through

Life sure is a helluva lot busier and fast when you're a civilian. It seems like things have been moving at double time these past few weeks. But then, maybe the keg party WAS last weekend. No....I got my computer last weekend. Time is getting sort of runney on me, it's very odd. So I got my new computer, that's pretty much sorted out. It doesn't seem to want to run the only game I really play these days very well, which is lame, but it runs it well enough. It's a networking thing I think, and if have a modicum of knowledge about PC's you know what a terrible pain in the ass that can be.

The search for housing seems to be coming apart. Joe didn't even call me back today....mildly annoying. I don't think we should settle though, it's just....it's suck a sticky and tricky game trying to find a house to live in. Uggghhh, I just want it to be over. Oh well, it's crunch time here so I'll have to have a serious conversation with the roomies(read "Joe").

It's strange these days, my "social life" that is. The weekends just go by in a blur. I'm pretty damned broke this weekend, so I think I might sit it out at home....of course, the call will go out, and already I know I'll most likely heed it. I'm still waiting for her to come along, but the desperation is washing away, like dust from a windshield in a slow rain. I stopped talking to her, going on two weeks now, geez, it's like being a damned alcoholic or an addict. I was though, I dunno how I do it but I get addicted to people.

It's work mainly, I'll not lie. I get up and go straight there, and I make sure to pack my lunch or know what I'm gonna do to get myself out of here come morning. I don't feel bad about it though, I mean, I don't have some fabulous job or anything, but I might stay with this company a long time. I figure it this way, I make every day count as far as they're concerned and I'll get mine down the road, just paying my dues right now is all.

This grindstone thing might get to me sometime, but for right now day in day out suits me just fine.
