its yet another time for reflection after a competition.
this year akita was held in hangzhou and we were housed in this hotel called 一住一宿。it was situated about 2.4km away from the school called ji liang university.
the food there was horrible. despite the fact that there was this street called "美食街", i cannot comprehend why ppl were willing to taste the food/buy the food because there was the smell of 臭豆腐!stinks to the maximum! not only that the floor was tiled and had a layer of oil over it! it felt really gross so i tried my best to minimise my encounter with the street.
i guess the best food there was the jap food (which is more expensive then their normal food but cheaper than singapore's jap food) and the chinese restaurant (which had that awesome and not so oily toufu! :D) lovely! hahahaha. the second best thing was the 超市!it's as big as the carrefour in suntec so it was AWESOME. yakult every night with random findings of pooh biscuits is awesome :D (helps in digestive system! =D)
no toilet paper throughout the whole school over in china so we happily bought whole dozen of toilet rolls to satisfy the team's needs. HAHA. it looked really silly on the first day cause we had so many toilet paper. plus it was pretty embarrassing to lug it around and even bring it to court. (first day there and there was already the competition.)
most memorable part had to be the delayed of flight AGAIN. we were supposedly to reached hangzhou at 12am but ended up reaching there around 2+ near 3am and having opening ceremony at 8.30am the next morning. totally KILLED me and tested my resilience. hahaha!
the whole competition to me led me to two thoughts
one.
whether i had really spent wasted time??
because
1) our competitors are really not very good and i still haven really got over how could we have lost to the china team. and i seriously dont believe that we are not better than them and we could have beaten them up down left right!!! D: upset! its not like i really gave up? i really didn't. i really tried my best and played as hard as i can defending that left hander! i swear i stopped her from scoring after i UP-ed myself! D:
it was really disappointing to lose but then again, no use crying over spilt milk right? the only thing that can be done is to go back next year (still pending since i'll be having internship for moe) and trash them!!!! ARGH. i must rmb to read this entry again if im going again next year so that i wont live in regrets/mistakes! D:
2) we didn't get to play with those pro teams! thats because we were placed in the lousiest team and didn't get a chance to even play with them. although it might be time wasted for them but to me, i think it would have been a great experience. like what gracie said, "you see got hole at the goal post but then dunno why the next minute ur ball would have just rebound out". but this time, it was, "got hole sure enter, no need to worry"
D: i didn't get such an experience though. hahahaha. maybe next time? this compeition was placed in the lousiest grouping where we only got 20 minutes of playing time instead of the usual 30 minutes. D: abit disappointing though.
akita wasn't as what i imagined i guess D:
two.
my hunger to improve.
no more seniors = juniors must UP themselves.
my next aim for myself is to be able to shoot 9m shots as well as to converge all the balls and have an aura on court.
okay, three aims
1) DARE to shoot
2) AIM well
3) have AURA.
yep.
must list out my aim otherwise i wont rmb right? :)
meeting the 台大ppl over there was very heartwarming! cheering for them when they played match was always a pleasure! makes me very happy to see how they performed and displayed all kinds of tactics to overcome the defenders was always a "moving" moment. i always love to see how ppl fight their way back up even though they're losing because it makes me very happy to know that they have yet to give up and still have that urge to win. i really HATE ppl who give up before the time is up because anything, and i mean ANYTHING can change! totally dont like ppl who give up even before trying because it doesn't make any sense to me! yep :)
china has really been quite a cultural shock to me
1) their children pee everywhere (water on the streets are all suspicious)
2) they expose their young babies private parts (just to pee easier?)
3) they snatch taxi like nobody's business
4) they either talk very loudly or scold very loudly (im not sure)
5) they cut queue like nobody' business
6) they smoke like there's no tmr.
luckily, im a singaporean. and proud to be one! (very patriotic since singapore's birthday coming soon!! :D)
staying in china really made me feel very proud to be a singaporean! our forefathers were from china but they have totally improved and changed the image to what singapore is today! being there really made me feel that ppl here are very friendly and nice and those in the service sector (where they smile all day) really deserve our respect!
the bottom line is: im happy to stay in singapore :D
okay end here!! BYEBYE!
