I was apprehensive... I really like the graphic novel so naturally I was torn between 'OMG HAVE TO SEEEEE' and 'DON'T FUCK IT UP!'
They...didn't fuck it up. :3 Actually, I liked it a LOT, and it's going on my shelf when the DVD comes out.
Non spoilery: It felt a lot like V for Vendetta... I mean, understandably considering the source material was written by the same person...but in terms of pacing. Fast start... lots of exposition where you get to meet the characters and gain one piece of the puzzle at a time... everything coming together in the end... which...er...
... OK. Dr. Manhattan bombs. Makes sense if you're not going to introduce the plethora of characters that create a giant space squid. But it was just little things like 'why did they talk to them instead of them', and 'why did they change that line?' stuff that irked me a bit, and changed the impact of certain scenes for me. But I'm nitpicking. :p
