where were you the fist time you heard the Nirvana album "Nevermind"? not the song "Smells Like Teen Spirit", but the entire (or close enough) album.
me: i was 15 and on a bus to a Colorguard competition. yes, colorguard...i twirled a rifle, sue me. there was a girl who was a year ahead of me who was playing it on her boombox in the classroom we all had to wait in before we were scheduled to perform. i totally loved it. i never heard SLTS, nor did i see the video prior to that day. it was seriously like nothing i'd ever heard before and was blown away.
i think that weekend i bought Nevermind and Bleach together and listened to them over and over again on my cassette player (i didn't have a CD player at the time, and even if i did, i couldn't afford to pay $20 per CD) until i almost, but not quite, got sick of it.
oh, i quit the colorguard that weekend, too.
