[ CHARACTER INFORMATION ]

Name: Damuron Atomais, but currently goes by Raven and has also been called Schwann Oltorain
Age: 35
Gender: Male
Fandom: Tales of Vesperia
Timeline: Post canon
History: http://aselia.wikia.com/wiki/Raven

Character Personality: Three words describe what most people see Raven as, and those are "shifty old man". And he does little to change that view. While he's not really that old at 35, he plays up the perverted old man cliché to the hilt. He flirts with anything female, exaggerates his weakness as the oldest of his party, and crows about his own greatness. With some people this would come off as extremely annoying and egotistical, but Raven manages just enough charm to keep his head... usually. He's just out there enough to assume most of his quips are meant jokingly more so then a real show of his thoughts. Either way, Raven tends to give off the vibe of having more going on then he says, more fingers in more pies then a laid-back, silly old man should. He always seems in control of himself... at least when things are serious. Any other time he might be apt to act a little extremely, especially if a pretty woman is involved.

Schwann on the other hand is a well respected man of honor and skill. While he shares his love of fine women with Raven, he's somewhat more gentlemanly about it. Schwann is a man who knows his life is forfeit as a Knight at anytime, anyplace. His men are loyal to him, though he is a bit detached by the time the party fights him. In fact, while Raven is energetic, Schwann seems almost like he’s just going through the motions. A man already dead inside.

Who is the real man and who is the mask? It's really not that simple. If Raven was born as a false face to get in with the Guilds, Schwann's real personality under the guise of a noble Knight, or what was left of him after Damuron's "death" is unclear. But what isn't is the fact that, at least in his own mind, Damuron and Schwann are both dead, and there is only Raven now.

Overall, Raven has a good heart. Even though he owed Alexei his very life, in the end he comes through for Brave Vesperia. There's almost a parental affection for the younger folk in his party, especially Karol, though even Yuri stirs a lot of pride in his battered heart. He also shows a lot of remorse for his part in the Great War, especially after he realizes what they were fighting were more then evil monsters. And while it ends up in him getting beaten more often then not, he's good at dissolving some of the stress of those around him with a well placed quip or joke. At his core he  is a man who has been living a long time like he was already dead, and that fatalism is still a large part of his personality. Even after breaking away from Alexei and  joining up with Brave Vesperia for real, he isn’t quite sure how to live for himself yet. But being around the rest of the party, seeing people willing to fight for just the tiniest chance at life, has given him some of his own fire back, and he’s not ready to give that up again.

Character Abilities: Raven is a skilled fighter, focusing on the bow. He’s also pretty talented with long daggers and swords, though he’s given up swords as part of his Schwann persona. Thanks to the blastia in his chest he can use skills called ‘artes’. His artes tend to be things such as energy arrows, but he can also heal others and cast wind based magic.

Outside battle Raven is a skilled liar, playing out not one, but two different lives at the same time without anyone suspecting anything. He’s good at looking harmless when in fact he’s taking in everything around him, saving the information for when it will come in handy.

He’s also a decent cook, especially desserts. As well as being able to deal with heat much better the average person.

Character Weaknesses: Physically, Raven has one huge glaring weakness: his Blastia heart. Without it he’d die instantly, and any damage to it can cause him a lot of trouble, especially since it is a mix of technology and magic, making it hard to repair. If he over exerts himself, he could go into cardiac arrest and die with little warning.

Personality-wise, “Raven” can be pretty annoying, and a bit of a pervert, not making him exactly loved by some people. He also easily comes off as untrustworthy, and that can get in the way of relationships.

[ WEAPON ONLY SECTION ]

Why your character should be a Weapon: A large chunk of Raven’s life has been spent as Alexei’s ‘weapon’, his secret trump card and cat’s paw against his enemies. Even though Raven no longer serves Alexei, his life is now owned by Brave Vesperia instead. He’s used to being a tool, and is just more comfortable that way. He now serves more as an advisor and back up to his younger friends then a front-line leader, and he’s fine with that.

What is your character's Weapon form?:  Raven’s weapon form is a large bow. It’s kinda old, dotted with nicks and scratches, but is still pretty sturdy and well made.

Raven’s Weapon form gives his Meister access to a few of his artes as his abilities, but each one drains from the same life force that powers his heart… so he can‘t use them too often:

Rainsong- An  energy shot,  slower then his normal ‘arrows’, but more damaging.

Love Shot- Fires three healing ‘arrows’ that seek out the Meister and their allies. They don’t heal much, but every bit counts. The arrows seek out women before men.

Azure Heavens- An arrow is shot straight up, and after a delay, a short rain of arrows comes back down on the foe.

Stop Flow- “Halt the march of time… I’ll pay you back later.“ Only usable when Raven and his Meister are at the peak of resonance. Raven is actually able to freeze time for a full minute, giving them time to flee or get in a bunch of cheap hits. This drains him more then any of his other abilities, and takes a few moments to charge, and so should be used carefully. Like the quote states, he has to “pay it back” later, and is usually out for at least a day after using it, if not longer if the fight was particularly rough.

[ SOUL INFORMATION ]

Soul Description: Paternal, detached, serious, funny, perverted, easy-going

Soul Appearance:  Raven’s soul is a wine color (more red then purple). It’s appearance tends to shift, usually sharing expressions and details with Raven (like his messy ponytail and leering expressions) or occasionally like Schwann (with on eye covered and a constant line face) or very very rarely reverting to Damuron. Regardless of ‘who’ it is, it’s always worn and battered, the color faded and always looking like it’s only a strong breath away from vanishing completely.
