So in my ever existing quest to find life outside of Hollywood, I have stumbled across another bit of oddness.

Kin-Dza-Dza

I didn't even bother reading the whole plot on IMDB so I went into it with : Kin-Dza-Dza is something like an "advanced cyberpunk film". It's a lot about people and social structures...

"Cyberpunk?" thinks I. "Cool," says I. Expecting a futuristic world of spikes and electronics I was, at first, disappointed. Then disheartened as it went from a modern Russian city to a desert on some other planet. I was about to give up, as it was already one in the morning and sleep is something of a delight to me. Then it happened. Glorious strangeness. There is something about strangeness that keeps me awake at night.

My list of top movies is fast becoming full of foreign language titles. I like that this one can in no way be construed as a pretentious artsy fartsy "film" for "film aficionados" and their ilk. It's just weird and that's why I like it.
