Seizing political power.....
Yesterday, in what was not entirely unexpected set of circumstances. The Town Close Labour party decided on me as their candidate for the 2008 City council elections. I'd have to say that I'm not all that confident of a win, the Greens had a pretty big majority last year with the LibDems in second place.
What I would like to do is make a mark, I may not win, but I think that increasing the Labour share of the vote compared with previous years is a reasonable goal. Whatever happens, it'll be fun, or if not fun then interesting at least.
