When it rains, it pours...
Last week, my mother's younger sister found out she has cancer. Today she found out that it's a somewhat rare form of lymphoma for which she will undergo a long, difficult treatment program. Starting Tuesday with the first chemotherapy treatment, she will have a total of 8 months of varied treatments spending 5 days a month in the hospital. She was told she can't work (and she just opened up her own store 4 months ago), she has to sterilize her house, and she has to give away all of her pets (4 cats & 1 dog). She also has no health insurance.
My mom is taking one of the cats who is from the same litter that one of our cats is from. My other aunt and my cousin and I will be working at the store (though I'll be gone for a month first). Oh yeah, and my last day with Borders is this Friday - I quit my position there so that I could work on the website fulltime. There's just a lot to process right now...
