prop·a·gan·da -

1. information, ideas, or rumors deliberately spread widely to help or harm a person, group, movement, institution, nation, etc.
2. the deliberate spreading of such information, rumors, etc.
3. the particular doctrines or principles propagated by an organization or movement.

At what early age should this concept be explained to children, so as to encourage the importance of thinking for themselves?

(This includes the propaganda originating from within the church and family as well.)

*This is a serious question, raised by the political atmosphere, but separate from it.

Those of you with kids, at what age did they or will they learn this concept? Or does that only happen once they leave the house (or go through their rebellious phase)?
