To me (you know, in the little fantasy world in my head), there are pretty much as many Batmans as there are sexual orientations.

In cannon... well there's Selina, and then there's so very much repression going on in that head, who really knows what else. Given the general level of angst going on in most verses, it's way too easy for me to throw general sexuality in with shit B's just not gonna deal with. In cannon: yeah, I agree with you on the whole "straight as an arrow" thing.

But I've got a thing a mile wide for the Bat, so I prefer to imagine him as uh... heteroflexible? Or maybe just so starved for attention under everything that whoever forces their way past his giant wall of stoicism (which no one ever *really* does) gets accepted. He seems to me like an everything-or-why-bother kind of guy when it comes to relationships. I'm definitely a sucker for fics (and comics!) where Bats uses working with others on "the Mission" as a substitute for emotional engagement, in other words. Hmm, I am doing a poor job of articulating any coherent case here, but I'm ok with having a whole bunch of different Batmans running around in my head to choose from. Hope none of this offends or seems way OOC to you... I know we all have our own favorite vision of Bats and how precious that is.

But kinky? Fuck yes. At minimum, possessive as hell. And I think it's baaaasically cannon that B gets off on fighting crime by now, amirite? :D

Oh I understand the fandom spin he's heteroflex. Sadly, my gut feeling with this particular character is he's not, no matter the incarnation. He has an exceptionally busy lovelife (get zhinxy to run it down for you sometime) and a very casual one too. But he also tends to fall in love a LOT... like crazy a lot... and always with girls.
Not that I see him as homophobic - no way. He'd never be like that. But just a genuine lack of interest in guys.

NOT that he'd never take it, mind you...
