Playing in bands since i was 16 has always been fun. I've never had a problem with most of the things that come with being in a band like loading in, loading out, long drives, the same songs over and over and over, feeling like shit after a set, being drunk too much, breaking strings, breaking guitars, having no money, etc. etc.

Wooden Kites played a show at Magias on saturday. It was a good show, lots of people we dont know were there, and thats always good. But during the night the one thing that really, really, REALLY annoys me happened more than once, and what better place to bitch about it than a live journal that no one reads.

The only thing i hate about being in a band is when people try to talk to you while you're setting up or breaking down after just finishing your set. i hate it. even if its my friends. when im up there trying to tune my guitar, and jo blow cocksucker is telling me about how he wants to book us at some show, i want to punch him in the face. its like, dude, you cant wait till were done? you couldnt ask me the during the two hours ive been here drinking and doing nothing? and then when you try to ignore them, they get all pissed off and I'M the asshole.

and then after a show, when you just played your last note, and literally, 10 seconds later, some cunt is up on stage talking to you, about music or whatever. wtf? can a nigga unplug?

we played mangias about six months ago. we ended with a song, and i swear, a minute later i looked over at Chris and there was this skinny hipster nerd talking to chris about how we reminded him of so and so but not really because so and so used to live next to so and so but so and so from so and so thanked him in the liner notes and blah blah blah blah. WHO FUCKING CARES? when we have to break down all of our stuff in 5 minutes, its hard to do when people are bugging you, especially when 99% of these people dont even off to grab something and help.

i know this may make me look like an asshole, but whatever. i dont really care.

livejournal.
