An Ode to the New Year

Hey! It's a brand new year!
Let's all drink and cheer.
It's all so fun
We'll laugh, drink rum
And wouldn't dare shed a tear.

But now you wake up,
See empty cups,
And pray it was all a dream.

It's no longer December
And you've torn up all the seams.

I thought i learned so much!
Shakespeare, vectors and such.
I even thought that I deserved my name.
But really I haven't grown at all.
I feel 10 inches tall.
