Inaugural Post
I think it's time to give this new-fangled online journaling thing a try. I've had a journal for several years, but never posted publicly due to the conundrum of having nothing to say. My job involves health care and counseling, so I can't discuss much that happens there. My personal life is nonexistent as I'm always at work, plus I'm insanely private and paranoid. I haven't written anything in years. I have pets (2 dogs and 2 cats, in fact) but...no.
Why then am I bothering, you ask? Because I believe in the concept of Dreamwidth and have paid for an account. As I am constitutionally unable to purchase something and then make no use of it, I must figure out something to do with this journal! I do read a lot, so reccing is a possibility. I also love quotes, so expect to see quotes here. I have sworn to a higher power (in whom I believe on alternate Wednesdays), offered up my first-born child (likely never to be conceived, but it's the thought that counts, right?), sworn on my mother's grave (who is very much alive but, again, the thought), that I will leave more feedback and comments, so at least I have an identity with which to do so. Also, ICONS! I've never bothered with icons before as I never posted and almost never commented but I always envied the pretty. Now I can have some too!
