Rex Libris Optioned by Warner Bros.
How's about some "comic book licensed for movie" news?
Rex Libris by James Turner, the comic about a two-fisted, straight-talking librarian has been optioned by Warner Brothers, and Mark Burton (Madagascar, Chicken Run) has been signed on to write.
The announcement is at Variety.
The big question: Who will play Rex? Who can possibly embody an immortal librarian whose love for the murdered Hypatia drives him to a life dedicated to combating ignorance?
Bruce Campbell? Vince Vaughn? Alec Baldwin?
I'm no good at casting. That's why I edit comic books. I can't tell you who would be a great Rex, but I can tell you that Rex Libris #8 will be out in May and the Rex Libris trade paperback collecting issues 1 - 5 will be out June!
