Sorry I haven't been posting here lately; I keep putting it off :/
Mostly because I FREAKING HATE THE ADS THEY HAVE HERE.
Not all of them, just the "interactive advertisement" ones that appear way too often.
Why?
Because they choke off my dial-up internet connection! DX
And it gets pretty frustrating having to log off and reconnect repeatedly just because I happened to come across the wrong ad. It really stifles the fun of LJ. >.<
Seriously, I have to click on a community post just so I can log in without encountering one of those ads!
(and hopefully not one filled with GIF animations in the comments. =_=')
I really shouldn't have to buy a subscription here just so I can USE this site without the frustration >.<
LJ, YOUR INTERACTIVE ADVERTISEMENTS SUCK. BE CONSIDERATE OF YOUR DIAL-UP USERS, DAMMIT. D<
...though really it's the ad-makers fault, I suppose.
Looking at a Jimmy Dean sandwich (which is the ad I'm looking at now) isn't all that appealing, but it's better than some automatically-playing commercial for French's fried onions or Lysol or air freshener or whatever. >.<
Anyway, I feel bad about not updating mainly because I've since posted two AMVs to my YouTube account:
My belated AkuRoku day vid, You Belong with Me:

And a former credits video-turned possible beta, with Abingdon Boys School and the secret ending from KH2: Final Mix, aka Birth by Sleep. <3

Speaking of, I got my copy of Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep last week, and I love it. <3
Deciding who to play as first was kinda tough. Stev recommended that I at least save Aqua for last, so that left Terra and Ven. I knew (KH director) Nomura's recommended order was Terra, Ven, Aqua, but leading up to, and ESPECIALLY after the intro/beginning clips, I was really tempted to pick Ven.
It was reeeeallly close...
...I picked Terra. D:
Shocked? Yeah, I was, too. xD;
The moment I picked him, I said: "I'm going to regret this." >.>
But actually, I really haven't yet.
I mean, Ven's ADORABLE, and I can hardly wait to play through his story, but playing this way just makes sense to me now, storyline-wise.
And, I've grown to like Terra. :]
I really wasn't sure what I'd think of him at first, since I hadn't heard much about what his character is like, but after watching him and getting to know him a little, he's grown on me.
I mainly like his point-of-view; he's a grown-up, at least around my age, but he's still got things to learn, like me. Not that he's naive, just that he was brought up/taught to believe in one worldview and way of viewing things, and now that he's out exploring other worlds and meeting the people on them, it's expanding his outlook.
Kinda like me, who's grown up in kind of a small setting; living in one state, having mostly my parents for in-person interaction. When I started making internet friends, things started to change; some of them challenged my way of thinking of some things in ways that I really hadn't thought of before, taught me things that I wasn't getting from anywhere else, and helped me grow as a person.
And also his search for how to define himself hits home a little, too: Master Eraqus (I really dislike the game's pronunciation of his name, btw; Erikus? >.< ) pretty much tells him "You're messed up, dude. Train more, make the darkness go awaaaay, then I'll give you the approval that you so crave!" Then later he talks to Master Xehanort, who pretty much told him that he's not really messed up, just different, and that he can use that to his advantage. Terra isn't perfect, no; he's got a wee obsession with power and winning, which brings on the you-know-what, and I wouldn't say that following Master Xehanort's advice is the best plan of action, but, I can see where he's coming from, and this is what I love about the KH series introducing slightly more mature characters. Sure, Sora's cute, he's kinda grown on me, too, despite him being slightly annoying at times, and I love Roxas, but the reason I started liking the KH series more was because they started introducing older characters in the form of the Organization: I liked Axel in Chain of Memories precisely because I felt I could relate to him a little better. It's partly a kids' fandom, I realize, the copious amounts of Disney have not gone unnoticed by me :P But older kids play it too, and the older characters help when we're feeling like the grown-up amongst the children. ^^
Plus, he's kinda kick-ass in battle, so that makes it fun. >D
I love most of the music in the game so far; so far the Enchanted Dominion theme is my favorite. It reminds me of Kenny G. xD;
The new enemies, the Unversed, are pretty cool. My favorites so far are the Floods; they're like rabbits! :D
Oh, and the report entries on the Unversed...
...are the snarkiest things I've EVER seen written in a Kingdom Hearts game. xD
Seriously, I end up either smiling or giggling at most of them! xD I don't know who writes those things, but whomever it was must've gotten sick of the usual, somewhat boring descriptions and decided to add some humorous snark. :P
This is my favorite example, an excerpt from the entry on the first boss fight:
"To attack, the Wheel Master used...wait for it...its wheel. Also thread. But what cruel timing, tearing up the audience chamber right when Terra was in the midst of his pangs of remorse! Not very nice at all."
It's so wrong that I giggled at this, and still do, but I can't help it! XDD
I don't think it helped that a friend of mine told me before this that she heard that Terra was kind of an angst bucket. xD;
Oh, and the gameplay is good, too :D Not too difficult to pick up, and the look/layout of the game really reminded me of KH1 and KH2, which made me happy because it's easily been at least two years since I played those games. ^_^
Uhm, I think that's all I can say at the moment...don't want to get TOO spoilerish here. And I'd really like to get to bed shortly...so if I remember something later that I forgot to mention in here, I'll edit this ^^'
Again, sorry about the lack of updates, guys! I've been here, but mostly just reading. ^^;
I'll try to update more; I've wanted to make a few posts before this, but the wrestling-with-ads thing held me back a bit, but I still want to make them. Having held-over LJ post ideas drives me nuts. >.<
So, enjoy the videos! :D
I'll at least update with my views on Birth by Sleep. ^^'
