Final three performance night.
And EVERYBODY'S playing a guitar.
They performed two songs each tonight, one they themselves chose, and one that one (or two) of the judges chose. The contestant's picks were first.
Casey performed some song I don't know, it was kind of average anyway, just an average Casey performance =_=
I mean, his singing was good, it just wasn't a WOW performance.
Randy agreed, using a line from the song he sang; "It was just alright", and that now that it's down to the wire he can't just pick easy breezy songs like that.
Ellen agreed with him, saying that he really needs to do more than that at this point in the competition, that it's do or die and etc.
Kara said that since it was the first time most of the people watching had heard that song, it didn't work so well in his favor, because his performance wasn't too outstanding.
Simon said it was like a salad before dinner; something light that hopefully will follow with something substantial.
Crystal's performing "Come To My Window" by Melissa Etheridge. Ugh, that song's been performed on this show a quadrillion times! DX
Eh, she was good, though. Did the song in a way I haven't really heard it done before on this show. And she had that pretty mic stand again. I think it must be something of her own or that she picked out, because she mentioned it after the performance. Oh, and she used a harmonica in addition to the acoustic guitar.
Randy said he didn't like the arrangement, but he loved her vocal, so overall he liked it.
Ellen said it was the right song choice for her, it's the kind of music she should be doing, and that Etheridge would be proud of her.
Kra said that she got kinda lost in the arrangement but that it was still a good vocal.
Simon agreed with the rest, saying that it wasn't the most stunning version of that song you're gonna hear, but that what he likes about her is that since she got there, she hasn't compromised herself as an artist.
Lee's performing "Simple Man" by Lynrd Skynrd (don't really know how to spell that).
Wow, that was better than the other two's performances.
Randy said it was a great, brilliant song choice, that he sounded amazing, and that now he looks like he's in it to win it.
Ellen said she's proud of him, that when they met him, he was like a lamb, and now he's like a gazelle or impala or something, haha.
Kara said that he picked a song that meant something to him (which is what he said before he'd performed it), and that that was important, and that in her opinion, round one went to Lee, and I agree.
Simon asked him why Lee chose the song, and Lee rambled on about it, Simon was like, "Okay", and he said that while the other contestants' song choices were okay, Lee's was on the money, and that he "crushed" the other two.
I honestly have to agree. >.>
Randy and Kara chose "Daughters" by John Mayer for Casey, that was kind of a surprise.
Eh, to be honest, it was kind of boring. :/
I mean, I like that song, but I like it performed by John Mayer. It was just okay.
Randy and Kara really liked it, of course.
Ellen said that she liked it and that a lot of mothers and daughters, and sons, would be voting for him.
(I hope not. >.< )
Simon said that it was a much better song choice than the first one, and the only issue he had with it is that it needed a climax, and Kara started bickering with him that the song doesn't HAVE a climax...blah. :|
Ellen chose "Maybe I'm Amazed" by Paul McCartney for Crystal.
It was good, and I like that song, but she kinda screamed part of it o.O
Randy said great song, great vocals, and that she's also in it to win it.
Ellen said "she did it" and seemed proud of her.
Kara said she didn't change up the song much, that it was kind of a risk for her, but that she pulled it off.
Simon said she proved that she had soul, and also said that it was kind of a risk for her, but that she might be thanking Ellen next week if she's in the finale, and winked. ;p
Ooh, Simon picked "Hallelujah" by Jeff Buckley for Lee :o
It was pretty good, but I think he made it a little too rousing at the end; it's supposed to be a SAD song.
All the judges really liked it, of course.
Heh, I find it funny that all along they'd been grooming Crystal to win, and suddenly they've changed gears to Lee because he went and proved himself to be talented and worth something. :P
Geez, what would these contestants do if the show still banned musical instruments on stage?
It'd probably be a different show now...
Ryan said that Justin Beiber's gonna be on the results show...
*twitch twitch*
>.<
