the punisher ignores that any use of
1. punishment will bring about the maximum in natural human resistance to change. this "push-back response" is the radical spirit in us. we will always refuse to submit.
2. punishment removes the focus of both the punisher & the punished from the behavior in question.
3. punishment arouses & focuses anger in the punisher
4. punishment induced behavior extinguishes very rapidly, especially when the punished is outside the presence of the punishment.
5. punishment traps the punisher into maintaining the punishment schedule & following through on threats or promises.
6. punishment does not teach accountability but rather, it teaches us the punisher is accountable for our behavior.
7. punishment denies a member of the human family the right to experience the real consequences of their actions.
prisons by design cycle masculine energy, nothing more.
