Oh dear...

I have to whip up 1.5 hours of stuff to do during my zbiorka (Polish scouting meeting) tomorrow since the lady that was supposed to show us how to make lavendar soap had to cancel due to a death in the family.  That's not too horrible (thinking of more stuff--of course the death is horrible)--scouting has made me accustomed to constant schedule changes--but I'm having a few slightly wacky ideas that may or may not work.

For example, I just set the Ten Scouting Laws (cliff notes version--each law is a bit long) to the tune of the Twelve Days of Christmas.  (20 minutes with going over the scouting laws?)

I want to have a competition to see who could come up with the best menu for a traditional Polish Wigilia (Christmas Eve).  (also 20 minutes?)

I want to have a relay competition to see which group can come up with the most Polish Christmas carols.  (15 mins)

I am considering first discussing Santa Claus vs. Sw. Mikolaj and then having the girls run to the appropriate section of a sidewalk chalk Venn diagram as I read sentences in Polish (ex/ "wears red," "was a bishop," "gives presents").  (10-15 mins)

We can make Christmas cards the rest of the time (30-40 mins)

Hmm.  I think I shall start with the scouting laws, then Santa Claus/Mikolaj (since St. Nicholas day is closer than Christmas Eve), then the menu, then the carol relay, and then Christmas cards.

I hope it doesn't flop.

And now I should probably sleep so that I have some energy tomorrow.
